How many times have you driven by Arlington Virginia’s Ballston Commons and wondered, “When are they going to update this once great mall?” We do each time we pass by. Ballston is a great, walkable Arlington community noted for an eclectic restaurant scene, excellent public transportation via bus and metrorail, a mixed variety of home styles from sky high condominiums to suburban style single family homes. It’s a wonderful mix of urban environs and a suburban lifestyle. If it has one major downfall, it’s the mall which is outdated and neglected by many shoppers in favor of funky boutiques in the area or the malls in Tyson’s Corner and Fair Oaks.
