How Much Home Can You Afford to Buy for About $430,000
Year-to-date through October 2016, $430,000 is the median price of a home sold in Northern Virginia (reported by RealEstate Business Intelligence data). The median value is the midpoint of all houses for sale - half of the houses cost more and half cost less. It's a much more realistic indicator of a real estate market since the median is not affected by large deviations in the data like an average price is.
