My wife and I worked with Candace Moe between March and August 2014, eventually selling our home in Oak Hill, VA (zip – 20171) during a very difficult selling period. There were several external factors that resulted in the extended sales cycle. First, was the sale of a comparable house on the same block for an extremely high price. That sale took place immediately before the downturn and was the basis for our initial asking price. Secondly, the bottom fell out of the market for homes in our price range of $600-750K. Candace recognized what was happening and worked very hard to overcome market softness by scheduling multiple open houses for realtors and the general public, putting ads in the Washington Post real estate section, and publishing multiple new and improved glossy brochures as the weather improved (house pictures during winter months do not show the house at its best – spring and summer pictures are much more appealing). Every week we strategized on how to move forward and finally had to reduce the asking price. (My wife and I could not wait for the market to improve because we had another house being built and had to close on it in August 2014). As I said previously, Candace worked extremely hard to overcome surprisingly poor market conditions. We will use her again if and when we sell our new home.
